Happy Thanksgiving From Advanced Style

Nana Helen and Papa Hal
Grandma Bluma and Grandpa Jacob

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and thank you all for your continued  support, comments and emails. I read and share all of your wonderful responses with the Advanced Style ladies, and they get so much joy knowing that they have inspired others. The photos above are of my wonderful grandparents who showed me that we can grow old with style, vitality, and creative spirit. They inspired me to look at aging in a positive light, just as the ladies and gentleman I photograph every week have done. I am thankful for all of the incredible people I have met over the last four years and am excited to share even more of their stories and style wisdom in the upcoming months.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

And thank you, Ari, for providing a place where those of us declared invisible by society after the age of 45 can revel in our beauty, style and wisdom. I LOVE being older, and part of that joy comes from seeing the ladies here and reading the comments of others. Much joy to you, your ladies and your blog readers.

  • Bless you, dear Ari….your family is beautiful indeed…
I hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving, and I sure am thankful for YOU, your dear Adv. Style ladies (and gents!), and your cause and passion!
    All the best,
    – Irina

  • What a lovely blog you have, with almost same theme as mine! I'm writing about beauty and fashion for women over 30 – and I try to cover all ages. I'm soo glad I'm not alone in seeing beauty in all ages and experiencing joy over fashion even if your not a teenager anymore!

    Happy thanksgiving!

  • I want to say a huge thank you from a 61 year old who last year gave up on herself and grew dowdy and miserable. Having discovered your blog together with such joyous positive images of older ladies I have spent some of my children's inheritance and relaunched my wardrobe. I am reborn. Thank you for giving this English lady back her style and much more.

  • I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, with good food and good friends! I can see why your grandparents inspired you so much.

  • Love it! I just keep reading this blog and i have to go to work…they will understand 😉
My blog is about vintage fashion:)

  • I too want to age as gracefully as them. Just stumbled across this blog and have to say this is a great initiative to feature older people in your blog. Just like birth and death, old age is also something that we all have to contend with and this blog is really showing a great way via which you can age gracefully.

  • Ari, after discovering you and these ladies on The Today Show (which I NEVER watch but happened to have on while I was getting ready for work) I am no longer afraid of the next 40+ years of my life (I am a 41 year old woman). Thank you to all of you – more than words can express.
