I have been captivated by images of stylish older women since I was a little boy.  My grandmothers, both incredibly fashionable, wise and strong, were my best friends.  I am always looking to find more photographs of advanced style ladies by other photographers.  Here are some of my favorite shots from photographer’s who share my affinity for fabulous older women. Let me know which are your favorites.

  • Favorites would be the bathing beauties because they look so relaxed.

  • Amazing photographs. I can only hope to be at least half of how stylish all of the beautiful women are. Thanks so much for sharing!

  • These photos are exquisite!!! I do not have a favorite but thank you for sharing them with us.

  • stunning photos

  • wonderful blog, lovely old people!

  • I'm ever the fan of black and white photography. Always adds some mystery.

Love this blog and your book – it's quite changed my fashion life!!

Love Edith Sitwell, so stunning and architectural in black and white but Anna Piaggi has been a fabulous inspiration for years. Love her, miss her.

  • Can't pick a favorite…I love the photos that show these lovely ladies, wrinkles and all.

  • Beautiful photographs

  • The first one is my favorite. I am in my 50's (to my shock and dismay) and I am starting to appreciate the fashion freedom of being older. Want to wear something a little bit crazy? Go for it!

I also like the last pic. Her outfit is more typical "old lady" dress perhaps but it's well put-together and I really like the red and white.

  • I think they are all works of art, Ari…
When one is so comfortable and confident…that is the art of living….
    Have a terrific week!!

  • Wow, I have never seen before something like your blog, it's amazing style, you are a great master.

  • wow, ari! what sublime images!!! just amazing and blew my socks off. again i say WOW! xx

  • One of the things about your photographs of older women that I particularly like is that you focus on them as women, often commanding and confident. You never shoot people as cute or comic except if they choose to present themselves that way. I feel that some of the photos you've chosen by others fail in that respect.
