Ah lovely – it's not just the cracking shade of lippy though – it's the neat collar, the lovely toning grey gloves, hat and scarf. Details, details – it's all in the detail. You are utterly gorgeous.
Finding the 'right' shade is like finding a gem. For most of us there will be many gems as our hair colour and skin tone change over time.

So true! My grandmother, who was born in 1898, never "went to town" (as she called it) without first putting on her red lipstick. She hardly wore any make-up, but when I was a child the ubiquitous red lipstick – applied to her lips and daintily rubbed into her cheeks – meant we were getting in the car and "going to town".
To this day I think of her when I apply my own red lipstick.
