Lengendary Dancer Jacquie “Tajah” Murdock

It’s always an honor and a pleasure to photograph dancer, Jacquie “Tajah” Murdock. Not only does she continue to dance into her 80s, but she also dresses up everyday no matter what. Jacquie grew up in Harlem, always dreaming of being a model and a dancer-She knew at five years old that she wanted to dance. A few years ago The Apollo Theater recognized Jacquie as a legendary dancer and one of her dreams came true. I hope Jacquie can inspire everyone to stay active and never forget their dreams.

  • Fantástica.

  • Jacquie has the wonderful elegance and poise of a woman who has danced her entire life. Posture makes such a difference in how old you look…

  • Tajah is pure poetry in motion, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (sigh of joy)

  • She is so lovely. I've been wary of wearing girly dresses, thinking they might be too young for me. Now I think I might give them a try.

Jackie definitely inspires me with her talent and peserverance, as does her amazing dress!

  • Oh My Gardem! This lady is into her eighties, I'm loving the 'Billy Holiday flower' in her hair, and her print, transparent and print dress. Just fab, such poise and grace wrapped in style, with a sprinkling dash of pizzazz- YUM!

  • Your blog is amazing! And all the people you feature. I'm a new fan – of you, your blog and the people you feature!

  • Ooh, I love that dress!

  • So inspiring. I have a good friend in her mid-80s who still comes to ballet class with us several times a week. She has survived cancer and fractures from falls. She says it is dance that keeps her young.

  • Jacquie is my favorite of all the Advanced Style ladies. I wish she would write an autobiography. I think she has a lot of stories we'd like to hear!

  • ha ha her so beatiful more than i think

  • quiero llegar a su edad¡¡¡…ASÍ.. que postura, qué elegancia …y esa flor también la quiero yo¡¡¡
