How To Live to 103

Every few months I go visit my dear friend Ruth Kobin to see what she’s been up to. As I entered her apartment last week, she rolled out her exercise and greeted me with a big hug. After a quick lunch we got down to business. We played an hour’s worth of Bananagrams and Ruth beat me every time. I asked Ruth what motivates her to stay so strong and she replied that she loves her life and her family. Check out some of her inspiring words below:

I have been active my whole life and I’m not going to stop now. I have to live up to the expectations of my daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughters.They say I am their role model.I don’t
always feel like a role model, but I try and not let a day go by without doing something. On a good day I do 40 minutes, bad days 10. But i do something everyday even if I don’t feel like it. I roll out the mat and incorporate Pilates with some physical therapy. The only thing I miss out being this old is going to the ballet and theater all alone. It’s too hard to get a taxi when the crowds let out.
