I met Nancy, a sculptor, in the East Village. Her look is subtle but her layers are rad. When I asked about her silky brown pants, she explained that they are traditional Indian pants that she bought on a trip to India 25 years ago. She just started wearing them again and they are the perfect finishing touch to this look.
So it seems that the woman I shot under the posting entitled “Goth is The New Grey” happens to be featured in New York Magazine’s 50 most beautiful New Yorker’s, alongside Mimi Weddell! Here are a few articles that mention her and some of New York’s other stylish women over 50.

Lovely Finnish designer Riitta Immonen, founder of Marimekko, has passed on. Her patterns were impeccably Scandinavian.

I snapped this photo in the Goodwill thrift store on the Upper East Side. I stopped this beautiful lady because of her elegant, pulled-back hair and stylish and fun outfit. If you look closer you can see little mythic creatures dancing around on her skirt. I also love the big dramatic collar on her blouse. We spoke for a while about her experience in New York teaching children. She had so much grace and charm and seemed to know everyone in the store. I hope to run into her again.
